Adoption Policy
Dog Adoption Fee: $115. Puppies Under 4-Month-Old Adoption Fee: $135
Includes:
The cost to have the dog spayed/neutered (must be done before the animal can go home)
A heartworm test
The first distemper vaccination, Bordetella and worming
Microchipping and rabies vaccination.
CAT Adoption Fee: $95
Includes:
The cost to have the cat spayed/neutered (must be done before the animal can go home)
A Felv/FIV test
The first distemper vaccination, Bordetella and worming
Microchipping and rabies vaccination.
The Fauquier SPCA operates a spay/neuter clinic in which a licensed vet performs surgeries for adopted animals on Mondays and Thursdays before the pet can go to its new home.
Landlord approval for all renters (copy of lease and/or verbal landlord approval) is required plus certain Homeowner Association's requirements.
Certain dog breeds may require a fenced yard and homecheck (e.g. Pitbulls, Rottweilers, Dobermans, etc).
The Fauquier SPCA has a moral obligation to ensure that all animals are adopted as companion pets, and have adoption counselors to help each and every adopter find their perfect match. The Fauquier SPCA reserves the right to refuse any adoption.
The Fauquier SPCA is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization.
